Casey's versus Subway has national implications

A court battle in Iowa could have national implications. Casey's General Stores of Ankeny is suing Subway over the claim of exclusive rights to the term "footlong" in promoting sandwiches and related services. At 180 of its locations, Casey's is using the term "footlong" on signs and menus to promote its sandwiches. Subway says they have proprietary rights. The outcome of the case could affect restaurant menus across the nation.
