An Ottumwa realtor was beaten, tied up and robbed in the basement of a home she was showing Friday. Police said 53-year-old Kathy Sorak was lured to 1120 North Court Street by two men who pretended to be interested in buying the home. After the attack which involved a knife to her throat, the two men went outside for a moment. Sorak managed to free herself and send emails to friends asking for help. Police arrested Matthew Howard and Carl Lennie and charged both men with first degree robbery, saying they have a lengthy criminal record.
