Religious Conscience Protection Act

It would be legal for an Iowa business owner, who cites religious beliefs to refuse a job, housing, goods or services to people involved in a marriage that violates his or her religious convictions. House Study Bill 50, the Religious Conscience Protection Act, comes up before an Iowa House subcommittee tomorrow. The Des Moines Register reports it would also let a person, business or group, like a charity or fraternal group, deny services without fear of a civil claim or lawsuit if they think doing so would validate or recognize same-sex relationships.
