MidAmerican Energy's got three new wind turbine projects in the works that'll add 176 in the state by the end of the year. The new turbines will be in five counties, including Adair and Marshall. They'll keep MidAmerican as the No. 1 rate-regulated utility in the U.S. in ownership of wind-powered capacity. KCCI reports when done, MidAmerican will own 2,285 megawatts of wind generation, or 29% of total generation capacity.
