On Sunday, Gov. Branstad returns to familiar turf when he takes over again as chairman of the Midwestern Governors Association, which works on agriculture, economic development and energy. The Des Moines Register reports Branstad, who chaired the group back in 1987, replaces Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn. The conference includes Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
