Monticello, Iowa is losing some 45 jobs when Georgia-Pacific closes its box plant there. Employees found out yesterday, and told the plant will fill orders for the next few weeks, and then it will close. The company says the plant has not made a profit, so production moves to Dubuque and to Oshkosh, Wisconsin.Atlanta-based Georgia-Pacific produces tissue, packaging and building products. The city of Monticello will ask the state to help it find jobs for the displaced workers.
