The State Senate government oversight committee's got a hearing Thursday to talk about online academies and Internet schools. Two Iowa districts have signed contracts with for-profit virtual education companies to offer online-only programs to students next fall, and there's some question as to whether or not it's even legal under current state law. The hearing's at 1 Thursday afternoon in room 116 at the Statehouse.
