West Des Moines officials haven't forgotten the mess over the Maplenol Barn, and they are now considering creating a preservation advisory committee. The Des Moines Register reports city officials got a presentation from the State Historical Society this morning on cataloging and protecting important buildings. City staff will look the idea over and report back to a city council committee later this year.
