State Approves Incentives for New Fertilizer Plant

Iowa's Economic Development Authority Board's given a green light for incentives that'll bring a $1.3-billion fertilizer plant to Wever. The package, which includes two $805,000 loans-one forgivable from the state, plus $1.4-million i tax credits for job training will bring with them 165 new jobs. Orascom Construction Industries, based in Egypt, will be putting up over $100-million of its own money for the project.
