The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for part of northern Iowa for late tonight into tomorrow afternoon. Most of the snow is expected to start overnight mainly north of Highway 20 to the Minnesota border. 1 to 2" are forecast around Ames, with up to 8" farther north. The Des Moines metro area could miss this storm.
