State House Takes Up Bill to Constitutionally Limit Spending

The State House Appropriations Committee's expected to take up a bill this week amending the State Constitution to require a 60% vote of the legislature to raise taxes and a 66% vote of the Legislature to issue bonds. According to KCCI, the bill would also have to be approved by the next Legislature, and the earliest it could get to the ballot is 2014.
