Fire Destroys 112 Year Old Marshalltown Building

Nobody was hurt in an overnight fire in Marshalltown, but it did destroy a 112 year old budding. The Des Moines Register reports that fire officials said La Nortenita grocery store was on the main floor of the building on Main Street. People lived in the upper floors, but got out safely. Fire officials said they don't know how the fire started. From the time firefighters were called it took about five hours to control and extinguish the fire. They did say the more than century old building was made of wood and it went up quickly. Again, nobody hurt in the overnight fire in Marshalltown.
