State Senate Passes Bill Protecting Livestock Operators from Prying Eyes

The State Senate's overwhelmingly passed a bill making it a crime to apply for work at a livestock operation with the intention of documenting animal abuse. KCCI reports Democrat Joe Seng, who's a veterinarian, supported the bill, saying there've been cases where animal welfare activists took jobs and committed abuse they documented, then blamed the businesses for the problems. Animal rights groups say there's no proof that's ever happened.
