Deere and Company, which employs about 14,000 Iowans at manufacturing plants and at its credit center, reported a seventh consecutive record quarterly profit this week and said it expects sales growth of about 15 percent this year. The Des Moines Register reports that fourth quarter earnings for the farm equipment manufacturer were up three and a half percent over last year. Revenues rose more than half a billion dollars from a year earlier. Deere says its seeing a comeback in the forestry and construction divisions, which took a hit during the recession.
