Advertising Claims on Trial: Who Brings the Best Hot Dog?

The two largest hot dog makers in the country are taking their beef to federal court in Chicago. Oscar Mayer and Ball Park are accusing each other of breaking false advertising laws. Their parent companies are Sara Lee and Kraft, and the thousands of pages of filings in the pre-trial phase of the case shows the dog that reigns supreme is a serious matter. At issue, whether Oscar Mayer did, in fact, beat Ball Park in a national taste test, and whether it was a fair contest, and whether the Oscar Mayer Jumbo Beef Frank is 100 percent pure beef, as advertised.
