More Multi-Generational Living Arrangements in the State


New census figures show the numbers of households with extended families living together is on the rise, and analysts say that’s in large part due to the economy. The number of households with six or more people in Iowa increased nearly 17 percent in the last ten years. There are 30 percent more nonrelatives living in households. And, over 40 percent more people living with a grandparent.
