A Polk County judge says the Iowa Department of Corrections can not block an investigation by the state ombudsman’s office into treatment of an inmate at the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility. Judge Joel Novak ordered former Department of Corrections Administrative Law Judge Deborah Edwards to answer questions, under oath, about the disciplinary action she meted out against Randy Linderman, after he reportedly chest bumped corrections officer David Diemer in 2008.
