A 41 year old Des Moines man was arrested for attempted theft. Police say he was caught red handed by the owner of United Heating and Cooling on East 50th Street. Dustin Wipf had returned to the business, with a friend, to work on a vehicle and found Timothy Mericle loading a 9-thousand dollar air conditioner and two air compressors into a truck. He told them he needed the money to pay bills.
