The Drug Take Back in Iowa netted 2 and a half tons of unused and outdated prescription drugs in a nationwide event to safely get them out of the house and out of the hands of those who may abuse them, especially teens. A spokesperson for the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement tells the Des Moines Register: there are more Americans abusing prescription drugs than the number of those abusing cocaine, hallucinogens and heroin combined.
