33-year old Brian White told Des Moines police that two men broke into his home on Madison Avenue Wednesday morning and hit him in the head with a gun and threatened to kill him. He managed to get out of the house through a basement window and call police. 29-year old Kevin Paul Dyer of Des Moines was arrested on charges of first-degree burglary, possession of a weapon as a felon, possession of methamphetamine, a parole violation and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was being held without bond Thursday.
