The Metro Waste Authority's running a household hazardous waste clean-up, August 27th, from 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 27, in Colby Park, 6900 School St. in Windsor Heights. Residents can bring lead- and oil-based paints (but not latex paints), chemicals such as insecticides, poisons and solvents, lawn products, CFLs and cleaners to the event for proper disposal.
