Urbandale sees increase in burglaries

Urbandale police are on the lookout for theives. Police have received more than a dozen reports of theft from vehicles during the last week of April. In some cases windows were broken out of vehicles to gain entry, but most cases involved unlocked vehicles and items taken included iPods, GPS units, CDs, cash, construction tools and backpacks.. Officers say vehicle burglaries tend to increase with warmer weather, so keep your vehicles locked, and parked in well-lit area if you can.
