27,000 Fish Killed

The DNR is investigating a fish kill after a manure spill. Officials said some 27 thousand fish were killed in the South Skunk River near the Story-Hamilton County line. The fish kill, officials said, was traced back to a manure storage facility at a hog confinement near Randall. About a thousand of the fish that were killed were identified as small mouth bass. There were also channel catfish, sunfish, bullhead and bluegill killed.
