Waukee Schools Work to Ease Overcrowding with New Building

The Waukee school board is moving forward with plans to build a seventh elementary school. Board members approved the purchase of land at the intersection of Stagecoach and 96th Streets in West Des Moines. It’s 18 acres. The purchase price is 760-thousand dollars. Construction will begin next spring, with an opening expected in the fall of 2013 to help ease overcrowded conditions in the grade schools.
