Board of Trade Waits for Report on Corn Yields

Corn prices were unchanged in Chicago, on the Board of Trade, yesterday. But Corn traders will be looking at the supply and demand report that’s coming out from the U-S Department of Agriculture. It will update yield forecasts, based on hot weather of the last few weeks. The July forecast put the national yield at 158.7 bushels per acre. Some private forecasters say the heat stress and potential for damage during pollination may force the USDA to cut those estimates to as low as 153 bushels per acre. Supplies are already low.
