Students and teachers are getting their first looks at a noticeably bigger and brighter Ankeny High School this week. Boxes are being unpacked and signs posted as the district readies for the first day of school Aug. 15. The Des Moines Register reports the new high school be home for around 1,000 juniors and seniors will be there for this school year and next. For the 2013 school year, the district will divide 10th to 12th grades between Ankeny High and Ankeny Centennial High Schools.
