No charges for bus driver after hitting pedestrian

No charges will be filed against Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority driver William Sanders. Authorities concluded Sanders didn't know a pedestrian was running alongside the bus when the accident happened. 60-year old Robert Lee Pate had been drinking alcohol as he tried to catch up to the bus, according to Des Moines Police. Investigators don't know what the alcohol level was or if it was enough to contribute to the accident. Pate is still hospitalized.
