New Record High in Des Moines

The National Weather Service says we've set another record high today in Des Moines. It hit 58 degrees. Forecasters say many areas of Iowa are experiencing one of their warmest winters to date on record. KCCI reports so far this month, the temperature's reached the 60s on three days. The only other time this has happened was in 2002. In 134 years of records, the temperature's hit 65 or higher only six times in January, twice last month.
